Acne care in a clinic can mean extractions, topical plans, and sometimes peels. Chemical peels use acids to loosen debris and speed shedding. Both are usually done in series. The key step is describing your acne type and your current products clearly.

When a doctor may advise waiting
- Very painful deep cysts may need a medical plan from a doctor, not a facial alone.
- People using isotretinoin should not start a peel without the doctor's approval.
- Open wounds or infected skin are reasons to wait.
