PicoWay
PicoWay is a picosecond laser from Candela. See how to ask about wavelengths, handpieces, and uses in English.
How it works
PicoWay is a picosecond laser system made by Candela. It delivers extremely short pulses, and the system offers more than one wavelength so the provider can choose settings for the concern. Short pulses are intended to break up pigment particles with less reliance on heat. It is used for pigment, some tattoo colors, and some skin-texture plans. Results vary by person, and several visits are common.
Good to know
- Ask which wavelength and handpiece are planned, since they suit different targets.
- Spot size affects how gentle or strong the treatment feels.
- Stinging or snapping is common.
- Redness, pinpoint scabs, or temporary darkening can follow.
Asking about PicoWay in English
PicoWay is sometimes mistyped as "Pico Way" or confused with other pico lasers. Ask the coordinator to confirm the name and maker, Candela, and to note it in your plan.
If the doctor talks about "wavelength," ask what it means for your goal: a spot, an overall tone, or a tattoo. Also ask how the settings change if your skin is tan. Keep a list of your visits and the settings used, so a future provider can see what was done.
PicoWay: common questions
Why does PicoWay have more than one wavelength?
Different wavelengths are absorbed by different colors. The provider picks one that fits the target.
Is it the same as PicoSure?
No. Both are picosecond lasers, but they are different products from different makers.
How many visits might I need?
It depends on your goal. Ask for a range and the checkpoints.
